Episode 13: Reality TV Time: Ranking of Survivor Game-Changers Contestants

This week on Wednesday, Survivor will premiere it's 34th season. This will feature 20 former players that has said to have tried to made game-changing moves in their seasons. Either if it worked for them, or it didn't, they would be eligible for this season.

I find it interesting that we are having a all-returnee season when we just recently got out of one with "Second Chances", but i'm not one of the people running the show behind or in front of the scenes, So I'll just talk about it.

What I plan to so is that, whenever there is a all-returnee season for a show, I will do a ranking on my thoughts on the contestants. It wouldn't matter if they should be on this season or not *Though it could effect them a bit*, it's my own opinion on them and what they were like on their previous seasons. This will work with #1 being the one I'm rooting for the most, and #20 being the one I'm rooting for the least.

With that said, let's begin the countdown.


Number Twenty:

Brad Culpepper

Previous Season(s): Blood Vs Water: 15th

I can kinda see why someone might see him as a "Game-Changer". He created the majority alliance at the time, and he tried to make a move against it, which ended up failing as the target Caleb Bankston ended up turning the tables on Brad at tribal, which ended with Culpepper being voted out instead. But as we couldn't get Caleb to be on this season *May he Rest in Peace*, they might as well go for the victim of the game changing move. Honestly, I put Brad at the bottom as honestly, there wasn't much else to him in Blood Vs Water outside of looking like the bad guy of the pre-merge, and not even a fun one. Even if we did get fun moments with people attacking him after he voted them out. Brad created a alliance and he shot himself in the foot, and while he tried to change his target to someone else *who we will get to* it was too late as he was caught and booted off, and I see him not doing well here either. His biggest obstacle, is himself and I'm not sure if he can outcome it. We'll see

Number Nineteen:

Oscar "Ozzy" Lusth

Previous Seasons: Cook Islands: 2nd, Micronesia *Fans Vs Favourites: 9th, South Pacific: 4th

*Sigh*, I'll just be honest, I don't like Ozzy. I'm sure he's a nice guy and he might have been cool in "Cook Islands" though I have yet to see it. But while "Micronesia" might have been a bit of a start of Ozzy's downward with a bit of arrogance, "South Pacific" was a chore to watch him go through the season. I will give credit, that he one of the best players physically, but his social game sucks, a lot. If it didn't, he wouldn't have been blindsided with an idol in "Micronesia". I thought he went on "South Pacific" to improve on his social game. How does getting voted out three times in one season alone, make your social game an improvement? Espically, when you up the arrogance, and spend time bullying people like "Cochran" or laying on a hammock with another idol. And honestly, watching him leave with a up and applause from the jury with sickening to me, if anything it made his ego even bigger. I don't see Ozzy winning this season, at all.

Number Eighteen:

Sandra Diaz-Twine

Previous Season(s): Pearl Islands: 1st, Heroes vs Villains: 1st

Time for a serious question, while I get that Sandra is a game-changer, being a two-time winner and all, but why would she agree to sign up for this? She would be lucky if she wasn't one of the first four people voted off. She won twice, why would anyone take her to the end? Plus, she was never good at challenges, in fact she might be one of the worst ever in challenges. And with a cast like this where most of them are strong physically, it will be tough for her to survive the beginning espically if she is always on the losing tribe. Honestly, I never thought she was that great of a player the first two seasons either. "Pearl Islands, where I think she was lucky to be in the final 2 with possibly, one of the biggest goats in Reality TV history, as she could have lost against anyone else, even against "Fairplay". And personally, I would have voted Parvati in "Heroes vs Villains" to win, but that's just me. If she can make it past the first half of the game, she might have a shot and if she makes the finals again, then the other players doesn't deserve to be called "All-Stars". But, I think she has the biggest obstacle and I'm not sure if she will do well, and honestly, I'm ok with that.

Number Seventeen:

Caleb Reynolds
Previous Seasons: Kaoh Rong: 15th

Time for another serious question, What did Caleb do that was game changing? Yes, I know that his evacuation in "Kaoh Rong" was tragic, but that wasn't something that changed the game. If you wanted someone that almost died and was game changing, then you could have picked Russell Swan from "Samoa" as his evacuation was tragic and it effected the game for his tribemates, for better or for worse. But here is Caleb and really, the reason he is this low is because I saw him on "Big Brother" and I was not a fan of him in that game. Him being on Survivor didn't make things better as he wasn't around long enough to change my opinion on him. Now he has a second chance *A format that would work better for him to be honest* and let's see how he uses it.


Number Sixteen:

Sierra Dawn Thomas

Previous Season: Worlds Apart: 5th

On the topic of people where it's questionable if they were "Game-Changers", we have someone that was said to have played a quiet game-changing game. Even that is questionable. She is game-changing because she was loyal to people that were targeting her at the start of the game? I fail to see how that is game-changing. And honestly, I just find her bland and not interesting. Not much to say as she didn't leave much of a impact on me in "Worlds Apart".

Interesting Fact: Originally, they were gonna have "San Juan Del Sur" Sole Survivor, Natalie Anderson to be in this season but dropped out last minute and Sierra took her place. I'm not the biggest Natalie Anderson fan, but I found her more interesting to watch then Sierra. I don't hate her, I just found her forgettable.

Number Fifteen:

Aubry Bracco

Previous Season: Kaoh Rong: 2nd

and

Number Fourteen

Debbie Wanner

Previous Season: Kaoh Rong: 9th

I put them together as they were from the same season, same brains tribe, both were involved in the same blindside and both I'm mixed on.

Let's start with Aubry, I admit, I really wanted to like her in "Kaoh Rong", she seemed nice, would have a good story in the game as starting from the bottom to the top, and someone that could rule the game strategically. Is it bad to say, I think she is overrated? I'll explain. The one move I will give credit for, is on convincing Tai to betray his alliance and join her, so that she will not get voted out. That I will get credit for. Outside of that, there was moments that made me scratch my head. I remember when after Julia joined the other alliance for the reward challenge, and Aubry thought she was a traitor. She was joining a team for a reward challenge, and someone from your side had to go there. You didn't know for sure that she was joining their side officially. Then she got obsessed on getting Julia out for it, and I never got why her, instead of someone from the other alliance. Then she betrays her ally Debbie for really, no good reason.

In fact, let's talk about Debbie. The one that was considered the female version of "Coach". originally, I couldn't stand her. I just found her really annoying the first few episodes as she was always having too much energy, and came off as that annoying cheerleader. So I was upset when she blindsided Liz at that tribal, especially when it should have been Peter. But that's another story. Eventually, once she cooled down a bit and started to be more of a player instead of a character, she started to grow on me a bit. But of course when that started happening, she gets blindsided as apparently her loyalty was questioned by Aubry which ended up being another bad call. Honestly, I would have been loyal to Debbie as she seemed trustworthy, even if she was weird.

I don't know how these two will perform, but I'm not expecting much.

Number Thirteen:

Jeff Varner

Previous Season: The Austrian Outback: 10th, Second Chances: 17th

The guy that gave up the game for peanut butter and got voted out in a tie-breaker that demolished his tribe. That alone is enough to put him on this season. I saw a bit of his scenes in "The Austrian Outback" and from what I got, he was quite funny. In "Second Chances" he kinda went out there  on the move making. At least he did start the trend of the "Voting Blocks" that season even if he wasn't there very long after a foot injury. At least he did something. How will he do this season? Well, clearly he worked  on being more healthy after "Second Chances", but its a question mark on how he will do with his mind. Time will tell. He will be great, or a disaster.

Number Twelve:

oh, I'm not making any friends for this pick

Tai Trang

Previous Season: Kaoh Rong: 3rd

I do have reasons for putting Fan Favourite Tai, this low on the list. I'll say that, I really wanted to like this guy. He was nice, fun, and has a funny moment once in a while. With that said, once the merge came, it was hard to see him play. When watching him play in the merge, I saw him playing a game that I really don't like seeing people play. It was the playing by emotions card. The one where you play the game and make choices based on how you feel, instead of picking the smart route. I'm talking about the imfamous moment where he betrays his alliance *And his only shot of a easy win*, after being easaily convinced by Aubry of leaving the bad guys and being with good people. I get that you want to put a bit of heart in your gameplay, but you need a balance. You also want to think with your head, and think of the smartest choice that can get you the win and he blew it when he blindsided and humiliated a ally, for no good reason. I don't know how Tai will do this season, I wouldn't trust him after what he did last time. I want Tai to do well, but I'm not sure if he can.

Number Eleven:  

Hali Ford

Previous Season: Worlds Apart: 11th

Before I say anything, I want to say that, I like Hali. She was part of my favourite alliance of "Worlds Apart. The No-Collar Trio of her, Jenn, and Joe. They were fun to watch, and you can tell they were trying to play the game and were in charge at the start. With that said, she misses the top 10, because I'm not sure what she qualifies her as a game-changer. That was because, they didn't show enough of Hali. They put the focus on Mike, Joe, Jenn, Shirin, Rodney, Dan, Carolyn, or Will, but usually not Hali. Which is a shame because when she does appear, she is fun to watch and I hope she does well here.

Episode 12: Song Review: Shape of You By: Ed Sheeran

Well, it has been a while since I did a song review, hasn't it? And since I last did one, a lot has happened. The presidency was official, Internet was losing their sh*t about The Oscars *I was glad Emma Stone won Best Actress* and things were quite busy as well in music charts. "Closer" breaks the record for most amount of times in the top 5. more songs getting success due to memes and viral rhymes, and a artist made history on having 2 debuts in the top 10 in the exact same week. What's surprising is that it wasn't Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Adele, Rihanna, or even Drake that accomplished this, it was....Ed Sheeran.

Now before you start complaining at me, I will say that I don't hate Ed Sheeran, I actually like a good chunk of his songs. Even when at the time where he was known for his "White-Guy-With-Acoustic-Guitar" days. Songs like "Lego House" and "The A-Team" from his debut album "+" still hold up after re-listening to them recently. And then came his album "X" where he got more success now getting songs making the top 10 or in the case of "Thinking out Loud" at number 2. If I made a best hit songs list for 2014, then "Don't" might have a shot of making the top of the list. I like the song that much. After success in 2014 and 2015, Ed takes a year off in 2016 where we heard nothing from him at all. Then we got people like Shawn Mendes who tried to be like Ed Sheeran, but with mixed results.

But then at the start of this year, there has been buzz of Ed return and making his third album called "÷", continuing his trend of naming his albums with Math symbols. so much buzz, that this song "Shape of you" debuted at number one on the hot 100. Originally this was gonna be a double review with this and his other top 10 debut "Castle on the Hill", but it quickly went down that hill. It's a shame because it is a really good song, but I guess it was too real and unshallow for the viewers. So we just have this song that is still number one to this day. Let's dive into it starting with...


The Production:


Continuing the trend of tropical-like-music that was popular in 2016 while having pop music involved, I will say it is still well done. It is not quiet, while not being so over the top that it ends up being annoying. I'm not gonna complain about the four cords as I have come to accept that it will be in almost a lot of pop songs each year from now on. I do like the production overall, but you can still have a bad song with it as shown last year, so let's continue on with.....


The Performer:

I believe that Ed Sheeran has found the balance with his vocal range in his songs. He is a decent singer, but he has a limit on how hard he can go. Evidence shown in "Thinking Out Loud" that it doesn't always work where he try's to sound rock hard with his vocals, but he takes a more subtle approach in this song and it smoothly works. In the verses, he sounds calm and ready and saves the high pitching for the chorus, it's a nice balance.


The Lyrics

The one thing Ed usually excels at, is the writing. He can be a good story-teller and his writing can be on point and smart. Here he talks about how he met a girl at a bar and starts dancing with her, which them blooms into a relationship while talking about he loves her body and how she works. Ed says that originally he wrote this song for Rihanna which shows in the talks about clubs, bars, and loving with people for their bodies. Which he says in the chorus a few times. It still works as he also talks about how the relationship goes with going on a date after a week and talking about their families. There is still some weird or off lines like how he says that his bedsheets smell like her and seems to take some pleasure from it. A little too much information there buddy. And then, there was the "Come on be my baby" part which is said for a breakdown almost like Meghan Trainor's "No" where there she was saying that she was untouchable. Ugh. It's not great but I'll take begging over unconvincing arrogance.

Final Conclusion:

I'll admit that "Castle on the Hill" is the better song of the two. It has better production and more interesting writing about childhood friends and not having seen them for so long and excited to see them again. With that said, "Shape of You" is still a good song. It has the vocal performance and writing that goes well with the tropical house beat. It's also a better Rihanna song then anything Rihanna does recently. Weird that it always happens.


Ranking: 8/10

If anything, this should be a strong lead into his ÷ album. If this is a sign, then Ed Sheeran should be a strong year even with competition against Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and Taylor Swift around. And, I'm cool with that. Good job dude.

Episode 11 Part 2: MTV's The Challenge: A Look At....

Hey Guys. So if you looked at my last post, I only talked about 3 champions instead of 4. Well this last one I thought I should talk about in detail as there is so much you can say about someone in a short paragraph. Especially about someone who has a long history on "The Challenge". I am of course, talking about

"Johnny Bananas": From: "The Real World: Key West"

Yes, this guy has 6 wins under his belt. Before I say anymore, I will say that there will be some spoilers on this blog, if you haven't seen "The Challenge" or any seasons with "Bananas" in it, then don't go any further and instead, go watch the show...........don't say I didn't warn you.

You still here? Ok, lets start from the beginning.

John Devenanzio AKA "Johnny Bananas", started on "The Real World: Key West" back in 2006. He was the typical party guy that pulls pranks who was for the most part, tolerable. It was enough for John to be casted into his rookie season of "The Challenge" being "The Duel" where surprisingly enough, he was eliminated first in that season and it started his first rivalry with former roommate, Tyler Duckworth. He seemed to be mixed on being a good guy (He was on the good guys team in Inferno 3 after all) and being a typical vet after 2 more appearances. And then, came his forth season "The Island" where he started to turn into the grade A a**hole that everyone knows him now. But in the end, he did get his first win that season and followed it up with another win in "The Ruins" with his champion teammates. He seemed to be on a roll, until "Cutthroat" happened where he faced elimination against Tyler again, but this time, they weren't against each other, they had to see how can last longer against CT who I talked about in the last post. In that elimination, CT crushed "Bananas" and ended up getting the nickname "Backpack" as he as literally carried by CT to defeat. But that seemed like the motivation to do better as he ended on a winning streak in "Rivals", "Battle of the Exes", and "Free Agents" with a 2nd place finish in the middle on "Rivals 2", and then "Exes 2" came where he started to struggle again where he got eliminated because former friend Sarah Patterson betrays him to get her first win. And after that, he got his 6th win on "Rivals 3" with Sarah with some controversially which i'll discuss later.


Now he is back, yet again as he seems to be the poster boy of the challenge for some reason. Is there any positive things I can say about him?

Well I can say that, he sure has the competiveness needed for the show, and he does has come kind of brains which is rare on these shows nowadays. But now, the one thing I give credit the most to about "Bananas" is that now he shows that can handle the game on his own. What do I mean by that? Before "Free Agents" which is a indivual format, he got his wins in teams, and pairs. It was a question if it was pure luck that he kept getting wins, or did he have strong partners enough to win with or without him. It became more questionable in "Rivals 2" where he seemed gassed out and couldn't handle the new ways of "The Challenge" as it was almost a decade since he came into MTV. Then came "Free Agents" where you were on your own and no alliance could save you at all. "Bananas" was on his own the entire season and went into 3 eliminations, the most that he went ever went to in one season, and won each of them and ended up winning. So, I give him credit on that.

But that isn't to say that there isn't some negativity with him. And that goes all the way to the way he looks at the game. Like I said, "The Island" was the first of his villainous ways as kept on fighting with multiple castemates and keeps on picking on people so much that eventually, it stops being funny. Especially nowadays where it is even worse as, he is almost in his mid-30's and he still acts like a spoiled teenager. If there was a show that proves that evil always wins then this is it. And when the few people do tell him that it's wrong, he doesn't care.

I never got why he became the poster boy for "The Challenge". Maybe it was because he nicknames himself as a fruit and has his own bobblehead. That's how arrogant he has become after all his wins. He's not really that funny in my opinion and his personality on the show is just hard to watch.

You know that as he has gotten a whole lot of rivals throughout his challenge carrer. I already said two of them with Tyler and Sarah, but then there is times with CT, Jordan, Dario *even if they are BFF's now, Cara-Maria, Kelly-Ann, Wes, Evelyn, and recently, Nany. and a lot of them he always wins at mostly with help of his friends which I'm amazed that he still has at this point.

Which comes to the biggest problem I have with "Bananas" and that is his hypocrisy. I mean it, he has become one major hypocrite on the show with his words and actions. On "Exes 2" when Sarah betrays him near the end to get her win, he berates her to no end on the show, The After-Show, and the Reunion about how she is now judas and that he would never betray someone to get a win. Which is a CLEAR FALSE. On "The Island" he had his alliance with a former roommate named Paula Meronek and they seemed tight, until he ends up betraying her to save himself and leaves her to claim another loss. I can't remember if he ever apologised for it as he clearly hurt her as she shows it. But he does it worse in "Battle of the Bloodlines" when he contributes to vote his ally Nany into elimination when he could have easily used a throwaway vote at anyone else and lost her as a friend. But what makes it worse is his excuse that his "girlfriend" didn't like nany and he had to think of her instead of not voting Nany to make sure, you still have her as a vote to keep you around and help you get more money which you keep coming back too in the first place. At least you could have done that as a friend which you kept saying you were which nowadays I don't buy for a second.

But the worst betrayal came at the end of "Rivals 3" where he and Sarah made it the end and won giving him his 6th win. But there was a twist, there were check points where people had to complete them solo and the person on each pair had the best time got to choose if they wanted to split the check which usually happens, or keep the whole thing for themselves and leaving their partner with NOTHING. While the other two pairs kept their souls and split the money, "Bananas" won the option and decided to keep the money for himself and leaving Sarah with no money. Meaning all the hard work she made to get to the end, was completely worthless. His excuse.....was this.....He said that he didn't know he was gonna keep coming back so he might as well take it and run. He also mentioned that Sarah betrayed him in "Exes 2" making this the same thing. Guess what "Bananas", IT'S NOT THE SAME THING. When Sarah did it to you, you both were on separate pairs, only one of you could win it, and she took the chance to make sure she finally got the win she deserved. On "Rivals 3", you two were partners, without Sarah, you would have not made it to the end and got you that win. Not to mention, that throughout the season, you both seemed to have mended fences and become friends again, only to stab her right in front of her with no care whatsoever.

If I was there and had the option, and my partner was either Tony, Dario, Nany, and even Kailah, I would have split the money because without them, I would not have won and I would have made sure we both were winners.

And to make matters worse, the very next season, he returns which makes me think that he stole Sarah's half of the check out of spite even though he claims that it wasn't. I was left disgusted with "Bananas" after that moment. And this could only hope that he shows up less after "Invasion" as why would anyone want to be partners with him again after what he did to Sarah?

So if you can't tell, I want "Bananas" to lose big time. Afterall, he's not unbeatable so there is a chance. And after that, soon he can retire and get a real job as I'm sure I'm not the only one sick of him. I go through the internet a lot. and more and more people keep saying they want "Bananas" to go away. And recent ratings showed that the show does not need him anymore as before that when it was "The Bananas Show", ratings were terrible and now it keeps rising.

So for who I want to succeed the most out of the guys?: Theo, Cory

Who I want to fail: "Bananas", "Zach" seriously there could have been better choices for male champions to invade

Who I think has a chance: Nelson, Darrell,

Who I think could fail: Anthony

Episode 11: A Look At: MTV's The Challenge: Invasion: Male Cast

Last week, I talked about the female cast of The newest season of "The Challenge", and now it's time to talk about the guys of the season. Both Champions and Underdogs.

Just like the last one, I will go in alphabetical order, and starting with the underdogs and then the champions. Might as well do it now as the premiere is this Tuesday at 9 Pm EST.

Ok, let's not waste anytime and just dive in. We start with the underdogs/Non-Winners starting with..

Anthony Bartolotte: From : "Are You the One? Season 2"

(First-Time Rookie)

We start with a rookie that I barely remember from his original season. Maybe that was because there was a lot of memorable personalities from the second season of "Are You the One?" like Brandon, Nate, Pratt, and another member that we will get to soon. I don't remember a single thing about Anthony and that is a bit of a problem. Maybe he will prove to be a decent competitor but I'm not expecting much.

Bruno Bettencourt: From: "The Real World: Skeletons"

(First-Time Rookie)

I'm surprised that it took this long to get Bruno on this show. He is one of the more known people from his season and that is for his angry temper and his blow ups on little things like a burger. But here he is, and Bruno is one of the big question marks of the rookies. I'm sure he can deliver in the challenges, you also need to have a good social game to make sure people don't vote you into elimination. I think once Bruno delivers one of his blow ups, then he will have a massive struggle in the game. I would give it, a episode or two before he is a target.

Cory Wharton: From: "The Real World: Ex-Plosion"

(Debut Challenge Season: Battle of the Bloodlines) (# of prior challenges: 2)

Here is a guy that has always had potential to be a champion on this show and did show promise on his debut season on "Bloodlines" despite having knee problems. On "Rivals 3", it was a shame to see him leave in a pathetic way especially when he was against a team he could have destroyed. It happens, and now, Cory is on his own and it should be interesting to see how he does, and wonder how long until his leg finally gives out.

Dario Medrano: From: "Are You the One? Season 2"

(Debut Challenge Season: Battle of the Bloodlines) (# of prior challenges: 2)

At first.....I was kinda rooting for this guy when he appeared on "Bloodlines", he was funny, and had no problem going against the boss of the game. But then...came "Rivals 3" where he kept going on and on with how he is going to target the leader of the game "Johnny Bananas", and once he finally get his chance, he cowards out and puts in 2 other teams instead and hands "Bananas" another win with no regret. One of my pet peeves in these shows are the people who keeps promising to make big moves and once they get the chance, they back out. And Dario did, just that and ended up getting eliminated shortly after that. Part of me wants him to redeem himself this season, and another part wants him gone early. We'll see what happens.

Hunter Barfield: From: "Are You the One? Season 3"

(First-Time Rookie)

Another person from "Are You the One?" that I barely remember. But, unlike Anthony, Hunter might have a chance as he seems fit enough to go against tough players. But again, I am not expecting much as I barely got to know him from his season when it was "The Amanda/Devin Show".

Nelson Thomas: From "Are You the One? Season 3"

(Debut Challenge Appearance: Rivals 3) (# of prior challenges: 1)

Another AYTO? player. And of the four, I think Nelson has the best chance to do well. He is likable, and has shown in "Rivals 3" that he can hold his own in challenges and eliminations. So , we have four guys from AYTO? this season, and I am betting on Nelson to do well in this. Just don't try to steal his girl, he can have a temper with that. Just saying.

Shane Landrum: From: "Road Rules: Campus Crawl"

(Debut Challenge Appearance: Battle of the Sexes) (# of prior challenges: 4)

Am I the only one surprised that Shane is one of the old school players making their return? I would expected Katie, Veronica, Tina, Mark, or Derrick to return before Shane. That's mostly because I thought he was fully done after his last appearance in "Fresh Meat" where he did better then most people would have thought. But here he is, 15 years later and ready to finally get his 1st win. and...he seems to have a shot as if you look at one of his recent pics, he is quite fit and really to take down anyone, and hopefully with him, Abhram in "Bloodlines", and another player that's here this season, we can get more players from the now cancelled "Road Rules" now to show the new school players what "The Challenge" is about.


Theo King-Bradley: From: "The Real World: Bad Blood"

(First-Time Rookie)

Now we have a rookie from our most recent "Real World" season, and I am glad that Theo is the guy on this season. He was my favourite castmate from that season as he had a good heart, he was fun to watch, especially when he and Tyara were together, and was not afraid to say what was right. And unlike Anika, I can see why Theo would be  on this show as he is a athlete. He was gonna be in the NFL, before a incident with his cousin stopped that from happening. So, I'm sure he can hold his own in the challenges and I hope he does well this season.

Tony Raines: From: "The Real World: Skeletons"

Ok seriously? Tony is back? Last season in "Rivals 3", he was kicked out for terrible behaviour which involved cornering his partner and kicking a trash can at her. Not to mention, that he is tough to control when he is in a mood. At least, he is tall and fit  and is really good in challenges, but he is tough to deal with. But I guess I have to accept that he is not going away anytime soon.

Now, to the champions...starting with..


Chris "CT" Tamburello: From: "The Real World: Paris"

(Debut Challenge Appearance: The Inferno) (# of prior challenges: 11) (Wins:1)

Where to start with CT? One of the most well known names in "The Challenge" community. Back in the old days where he was one of the big guys that you did not want to deal with. This is a guy that could have had a ton of wins and yet, only got one after nine attempts in "Rivals 2" His most well known story is his relationship he made in "The Duel" with another contestant named Diem Brown who passed away a few years ago due to Ovarian Cancer. CT didn't return to the show since then...until now. CT's transformation after 13 years is known from a tall bully, to a good soul who spends his life dedicating to who was the love of his life. Hoping CT does well for sure.


Darrel Taylor: From "Road Rules: Campus Crawl"

(Debut Challenge Apperance: The Gauntlet) (# of prior challenges: 6) (Wins:4)

It is Darrel, the first one to win four times on this show. The man that so many people wanted to see return after getting eliminated first in "Fresh Meat 2" with Cara-Maria of all people. Darrel is a legend on this show and after a several years, he is here making a comeback and I'm excited to see what happens as this is the first time I'm seeing him as I started watching the show in 2012.

Zach Nichols: From "The Real World: Back to San Diego"

(Debut Challenge Appearance: Battle of the Seasons 2012) (# of prior challenges: 4) (Wins:1)

The Thor-Turned- Into-Someone-That-Came-Out-Of-Survivor of the show. I seen Zach is his other three seasons where he seemed nice but had tough moments. But then he appeared in "Battle of the Exes 2" and he turned into a massive Douchbag. He treated his partner so horribly that I felt sorry that I wished that she left so that I didn't have to see him anymore. And then he went on to a relationship with Jenna *Who is in this season* and went  on to cheating on her. I was glad that he lost a elimination against a guy with one hand when he should have been able to beat anyone in it. Right now, I just hope he leaves as quickly as possible. Pass

That was this cast. I know that there is only 3 champions I talked about, but the other one I want to leave a whole blog post for which I will make tomorrow. And then the season can begin.

Episode 10: A Look At: MTV's The Challenge: Invasion: Female Cast

Last Time, I talked about the popular MTV show, "The Real World", well in February 7th, it's spinoff show "The Challenge" will premiere it's new season.

"The Challenge" is a show that started in 1998 as a competition show with people from "The Real World" and it cancelled show "Road Rules" competing against each other. It was once known as "The Real World/Road Rules Challenge" until they started letting complete young strangers join in with their "Fresh Meat" seasons without having to be part of the two shows I mentioned. And just recently, it added people from a different show called "Are You the One?" and no one know why. This became one of my top 3 favourite reality tv shows of all time as I enjoy the competiveness, the drama for the most part can be entertaining, and it shows that hard work can work out in the end *for the most part*.

Now we have the 29th season of the show coming soon, We had formats from "Battle of the Seasons", "Rivals", "Battle of the Exes", and "Battle of the Sexes", just to name a few. Some of them ended up having sequels. Now we have a brand new format called "Invasion" or "Invasion of the Champions" This is a Every-Player-For-Themselves format with a group of people that have never won a season competing to become a champion, but eventually a group of past winners comes in later on, to make sure they earn their first win if they get it.


I am here to talked about the cast as this is my first time talking about the show. I will start with the female cast because....ladies first. I'll talk about the guys next week.

So let's begin the look at the ladies of the season by looking at "The Underdogs" starting with...

Amanda Garcia: From "Are You the One? Season 3"

(Debut Challenge Season: Rivals 3) (# of  prior Challenges: 1)

Now, I had mixed feeling on Amanda when seeing her on "Are you the One?" She was great to look at *I'm a guy, sue me* but she tough to like especially when she harassed someone until he pushed her onto a bed, and be framed as the innocent one. So I wasn't looking forward to seeing her again when she appeared in "Rivals 3" and, yeah she was still looking for some drama, but she proved to be a decent competitor and had some kind of a brain. Now she gets a second chance on the show, and I'm curious what is gonna happen. She is gonna be great or a disaster.


Anika Rashaun: From "The Real World: Bad Blood"

(First-Time Rookie)

I felt like I just talked about Anika and her season yesterday even though it was last week. All I had to say about her was they she was nice.....and that's it. There wasn't much to her. So, I was surprised that she was asked to be on "The Challenge" and got accepted into the final cast. Nothing about her screams "Challenge Competitor" to me. Personally, I would have picked Jenn, Jordan, and even Tyara before Anika as I believed they would have had a chance on this show, I don't expect Anika to last long on this show. And, that's unfortunate as she is in fact , a nice lady.


Ashley Mitchell: From "The Real World: Ex-Plosion"

(Debut Challenge Season: Rivals 3) (# of Prior Challenges: 1)

Here's a funny story, she only lasted about three episodes on her original season, so I didn't even think she would be asked to be on "The Challenge". But then I hear that she would be on "Rivals 3" and...I was not expecting her to be a good competitor. On "The Real World", she was known for getting drunk and getting in fights...that's it. Now she's on her second season, after having a strong rookie season, despite not winning. And now, I'm interested to see how she will do on her own. I think she has a shot, if she lasts long enough.

Jenna Compono: From "The Real World: Explosion"

(Debut Challenge Season: Battle of the Exes 2) (# of Prior Challenges: 3)

Am I the only one that has been rooting for Jenna since the beginning? I say that as at the beginning of Exes 2, people didn't take her seriously as she was portrayed as the dumb blond that you would see in movies, and nothing changed once she made the finals with partner Jay, and they quit as Jay couldn't drink fish. But then she returned in 'Battle of the Bloodlines" and got 3 elimination wins and made the finals again. She placed third again, but she proved some people wrong, though not everyone. Then she reached 2nd place in "Rivals 3" and people are calling her a beast. Now is her chance to show that, though she will have obstacles as she will be on her own, and she will be competing in the same season as an ex who I'll talk about next week. But she made the finals every time she competed so far, so let's see what happens.

Kailah Casillas from "The Real World: Go Big or Go Home"

(First-Time Rookie)

*Sigh*, I should have expected someone from the turd of a season that was "Go Big or Go Home", would be on here at some point, I'm just shocked that one person that made it was Kailah that is in it. Again, just like Anika, nothing about her screams "Challenge Competitor" to me. I know as, in one of the tasks in her original season, was hiking up a massive mountain in the middle of no where, and she almost passed out of exhaustion, so I don't know how she will succeed in a show that has stuff that is harder then that. Plus I never found her that likable in her season, while there was worse people from that season, it didn't mean I found her tolerable, ugh.

LaToya Jackson From "The Real World: St Thomas"

(Debut Challenge Season: Free Agents) (# of Prior Challenges: 1)

Fun fact: St Thomas was the first season of "The Real World" that I ever saw. And it got me hooked as I really enjoyed the location and cast. So I was excited when after a couple seasons, we are getting people from that season on the show again. We have two people from it, the first is LaToya. And while she was "ok" in her original season, she proved that she can be a competitor on "Free Agents" and she won a elimination against a tough veteran player. Now, I wonder how she will do this time now that she isn't a first timer anymore. We'll see.

Marie Roda From "The Real World: St Thomas"

(Debut Challenge Season: Battle of the Seasons 2012) (# of Prior Challenges: 1)

Now we get the second one from "St Thomas" and she was my favourite one from that season. A funny person that has a big heart, but isn't afraid to fight with people when pushed too far. After "Battle of the Seasons", I thought we would get more of her, and I'm sad that it didn't happen as she showed serious potential in her rookie season. But now, several seasons later, she finally returns and ready to show what she can do, and I'm rooting for her all the way.

Nicole Zantanna From "The Real World: Skeletons"

(First-Time Rookie)

Of all the rookies this season, I would think Nicole is the one to do the best. She is made for the show. She is tough, extremely fit, and not afraid to back down. When I saw her on her original season, my reaction wasn't that she would be fun on "The Real World", it was that she would be a Badass on "The Challenge" and It was a matter of time until she finally appears. Though be careful, as she can and will, steal your girlfriends.

Sylvia Elsrode From "The Real World: Skeletons"

(First-Time Rookie)

Now we have the last female underdog, and....again, I'm mixed with Sylvia. I wasn't too much of a fan of Sylvia on her original season, she seemed nice and had good moments, but can be too tough to deal with at times. Once I think of Sylvia, I think of the time she went behind someone and pulled her down behind her by the throat to protect her best friend, even tough the best friend was the one in the wrong and doesn't even apologize for it. Now we see what she can do on this show, and while I think she was be around for a while, I'm not sure if she can win it. Just Saying.

Ashley Kelsey From "The Real World: Back to San Diego"

(Debut Challenge Season: Battle of the Seasons 2012) (# of Prior Challenges: 1) (Wins:1)

So, I'm not the only one shocked that she is here, right? After her win in her rookie season, I thought I would never see her again as she seemed like a "Won and Done" Player. She wasn't that interesting and not a lot of moments happened around her. But, now here she is several seasons later, and now that it is a solo season, I don't see her lasting long. She's not that great of a competitor and got lucky with strong teammates last time she played. Maybe she'll prove me wrong, but I'm not expecting much.


Camila Nakagawa From: Spring Break Challenge

(Debut Challenge Season: Cutthroat) (# of Prior Challenges: 8) (Wins: 1)

Oh boy, this is a tough player. We have someone that started from a one time show called "Spring Break Challenge" and she was the best known. And Camilla was the only one from that special to crossover to "The Challenge" and became a well known competitor for her drunken meltdowns and was given the nickname "The Camilanator". She was a lot of fun to watch and she even got a win on "Battle of the Exes". Now here she is hoping to get a 2nd win. She has a good chance as she is on her own so, she won't be dragged down by a partner as it happened to her the last two seasons. But there will be competiton for her. For example...

Cara Maria Sorbello From: Fresh Meat 2

(Debut Challenge Season: Fresh Meat 2) (# of Prior Challenges: 8) (Wins:1)

Cara Maria. Loved by some, hated by many. It's a interesting storyline as she started off as a awkward strange person that would get bullied by many people on the show. But as time went by, she became stronger and is now know as the one with the most elimination wins by a female in challenge history. Recently, she got her win in "Bloodlines" and then went through a rough break-up with longtime boyfriend and challenge vet Abhram who is someone you don't want to mess with. Now she is here and on her own more ready then ever, though there will be obstacles as there is people that has beaten her before and had up and down moments that can break her. Not to mention there is someone that is said to be stronger then Cara and can destroy her in a elimination. With that herrrreeessss...

Laurel Stucky From: Fresh Meat 2

(Debut Challenge Season: Fresh Meat 2) (# of Prior Challenges: 4) (Wins: 1)

One of the most feared competitors in Challenge History. In only Four seasons, Laurel has shown to be a challenge beast and an even bigger beast at elimination and only made finals each time she played, with getting three second places and a win on "Free Agents". But with that, she ended up getting more enemies, then friends with her competiveness. But she was always fun to watch *For the most part* Now, the big question is, how will she do with several people she never played with, has Cara Maria in a up and down friendship, and if there is anything that will stop her this season. We'll see.

Episode 9: Reality TV Time: The Real World Seattle: Bad Blood

Before I start with this episode, theres something to address. I did say that I was gonna do a best Non-Hit songs of 2016, but I lost a good amount of time as a lot of things in my life was around that I had to deal with. But heres a list of songs that weren't big hits in 2016 that I would highly recommend

Now onto the review.


Now this is a show I wanted to talk about once the season ended. For those of you who don't know, The Real World is a MTV show that starts a group of strangers that get together for a few months somewhere around the world and as the show quotes "Stops being polite and start getting real". They have been to places in the US like Los Angles, New York, Miami, San Diego *Twice* and Las Vegas *3 Times*. They have also to places outside of US like Paris, London, and Sydney. This show has been around since 1992 and just ended it's Thirty Second Season a few weeks ago and it's spin off "The Challenge" is premiering it's new season in a few weeks. But i'll talk more about that show in a couple of days.

Before this season of The Real World began I didn't know if I wanted to see it to begin with as the previous season "Go Big Or Go Home" was *In my Opinion* a disaster of a season. It tried to be like a former MTV Show "Road Rules" where it has people do multiple tasks and if they didn't, they would go home, and it work out very well as the tasks were not interesting. And that season failed hard due to it's unlikable cast. But i'll discuss more on that trainwrek another time.

So I gave the show another chance with "Bad Blood" and.........well, it's better then "Go Big or Go Home" that's for sure. But I wouldn't call it a great season either. There were more people I liked then I didn't and it had some fun moments but part of me wished they did more with the potential they had. What do I mean by it? Let's dive in with....

The Format

One MTV's has done recently is to give the show one specific twist each season. In "Ex-Plosion" it had the cast live with their Exes, In "Skeletons" it had them dealing with people they had unfinished business with for only a few days, and then there was a Road Rules Rip-Off in "Go Big or Go Home".

In "Bad Blood", we have 7 strangers living with 7 others that they gotten along with before but then drifted apart for multiple reasons. We have pairs that were couples but ended badly (Anika/Will) (Robbie/Jenn), Former Roommates (Mike/Peter), Former BFFs (Jordan/Orlana), Sister Drama (Katrina/Anna), Cousins (Theo/Kassisus) and even a High School Cyberbully (Tyara/Kim) and they had to live with each other for a few months in Seattle.


The Cast of the Season

The cast of 14 is for the most part, passable. Though there were some problems. We don't know much about Will or Kim as the show didn't show much of them. Most I know is that Will is one of the 2 people here with a kid and Kim once said bad things about Tyara and thought her british accent was fake. And that's it, nothing else. Don't know much about backstory, or what they learned here or what their plans were. I'm not asking for much, but I would like to see something and I feel like I got nothing from these two.

But then again, I guess it was better to not know much about then know who they are and not like them at all. Mike who I knew from a different MTV show called "Are You the One?" was someone that instigated drama for the first half and then left after feeling like he will be seen as the bad guy after accidently saying something racist to his "Love Interest" Jordan. I just didn't find much to like about him, but he was nothing against his former roommate Peter. Who started fine but I ended up disliking as the season went on. At first, he started a romance with Anna. Which ended quickly because of Anna's sister Katrina wanting more attention and Peter was not happy and quickly went to Jenn. What Peter says to Anna throughout the season did not make things better. At first, I liked seeing Peter and Jenn as a couple, but then he becomes so controlling, always getting angry at Jenn for little reasons and takes it out on the wall and fridge. Then he started instigating drama between Jenn and Anna for other reasons that you should check the season to know on. I hear that Peter and Jenn are doing fine now and are living together so I guess time will tell to see what happens.

But there were still some people in the cast I did like.

One is Theo from the cousins pair. We start out hearing that he is someone that was on his way to becoming a NFL star until a incident happen involving marijuana that was found in his dorm that he was sharing with Kassius which cost him for the rest of his life. He blamed Kass for the incident and they went their own ways since then. Now Theo has to lives with Kass and wants to makes things right between him and his cousin but things keep getting in the way along with memories from the past and with how the season goes you feel sorry for him. Theo is a guy with a big heart and wants to make things right and loves his cousin but slowly realises that it may not be possible.

I do like Jenn a lot as well. She is a kind soul that has insecurities because of the last relationship she was with that involved some verbal abuse. And again, I was rooting for her and Peter at first until he went insane. Once Peter got evicted after multiple warnings from the producers to cool his temper and he demanded that Jenn joins her, she says No and wants to finish the once in a life time experience. It was cool to see her stand up for herself and show that she can be her own person. She is a kind soul who does her own limits and can get angry when pushed too far.

Jordan is wild one that gets drunk. But to be fair, she also has a good heart and gives fun moments once in a while. And seeing her fix her friendship with Orlana throughout the season is one of the highlights. We get to know their backstory including Jordan not taking Orlana being suicidal seriously, and Jordan saying that she didn't know how to react was sad for her and then we slowly see them become close again and accepting who they are, really was nice to watch.

Some of the other members can be hit or miss. Robbie is a funny guy but can sometimes freak out over nothing. Katrina and Anna can be either fun to watch, or tough to deal with, shame their story never concluded. Kassius *Once you take the cousins drama out* is not that interesting, he says he is only this for his son, and then there was some one-sided romance with Orlana that didn't really go anywhere. All I got from Anika is that she is....nice. That's all I got for her. Orlana though bland at times, does show once in a while to be a cool person and it was nice to see her mature from her past and accept herself because she is not a bad person. Tyara is kinda all over the place and can be entertaining or annoying at times. Though I did enjoy the fun moments she had with Theo.

Controversy

After the season finale ended, there was an uproar on the internet involving Peter and Jenn's relationship and how it was shown in the show. People did not like that after seeing two episodes of Peter controlling Jenn on who she talks too and how she dances, verbally attacks her for it, get angry about her helping Jordan who was throwing up at the toilet, she was that drunk and then threw a tantrum about her not leaving the show with him and threatened to end the relationship over it, and see that they were not only still together a few months after the show, but were living together as well. During that Jenn keeps defending Peter saying that things were good and that fans are only complaing on that they on a hour long episode that filmed a while ago and don't know what is happening now.

What do I think? Honestly it's none of my business. If Jenn is still with Peter after all that's happened a few months ago, then she must see something in him that we don't and we shouldn't judge and let them live their lives. Until we see them in a news in a Chris brown and Rihanna way, then we should not interfere and instead let them live their lives.


Conclusion

Even taking "Go Big or Go Home" out of the equation, how does the season work on it's own. Maybe because I started watching the show at "St. Thomas" but I do overall enjoy the season. There are problems, some big problems but there was enough things in it to make the season worth watching.

Ranking: 7/10

Sadly because of last season, the ratings were horrible but did get a little better as it went on. Hopefully it wasn't enough to cancel the show that has been around for so long because this season was quite enjoyable with some people I am hoping appears in "The Challenge" at some point.

Least Favourites: Peter, Mike


In the upcoming weeks, I'm gonna talk about the cast of the new season on "The Challenge" as move closer to the premiere in early February. I can say that two people in this cast will be in it. Who will they be? I'll say later.

Episode 8: The Top 10 Worst Hit Songs of 2016.

So I'm ready to get this back on track. Time to settle this once and for all. Time to talk about the worst of 2016 for music. While there was some gems in 2016, the bad songs were unbearable. I thought I would lose sanity by the time we got to the summer. And they got popular. So lets beat them down so that we don't ever have to talk about them again.

Reminder of the rules. They had to have debuted on the year end list of 2016 or made the top 20 on the hot 100 at some point in the billboard year (December 2015-November 2016).


Let me just say, it's only my opinion. If you like them, good for you. This is just me talking about songs I did not like at all.


But first, Some Honorable Mentions


"Sit Still, Look Pretty" by: Daya

People like to say that "Hideaway" was the worst of the hits Daya had. While it wasn't good, at least to production was decent enough. "Sit Still, Look Pretty" didn't even have that. The beat was a bit of a mess, and the lyrics sure didn't help. It's condescending, it obnoxious, and just...bad.


"Back to Sleep" by: Chris Brown

His one hit this year, maybe people are getting sick of him now. Who knows? But after hearing this where he is gonna bang her so hard that she will be unconscious while making It sound like a possible murder, maybe people should be sick of him.

"Lost Boy" by: Ruth B

Major snore. Honestly, there isn't much to say about this one, just listen to Kelsey Ballerini's "Peter Pan". It's a better version.


"Cut It" by: OT Genasis ft. Young Dolph

The guy that made the vine hit "Coco" got a 2nd hit. HOW?


"Love Yourself" by: Justin Bieber

So this is the top song of 2016. At this point, I'm not surprised by the lameness of music making top spot with the year being lame itself.


Now, to the true winners of this list.


Number 10:


"Just Like Fire" by: Pink

To be quite honest, I'm not that much of a pink fan. I don't hate her but she never got my attention. There was some songs I do like from her but then we get songs like this. I have no problem with her selling out. Sometimes, artist get better after selling out (Nelly Furtado and Taylor Swift are examples) but this comeback Pink song is just pathetic. It is really a song you could give to any other artist and nothing would change. This is another stereotypical power anthem with none of the massive energy. And the rap breakdown in the end is just sad to watch. If I wanted to hear a power anthem, I would listen to Beyoncé, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and even Demi Lovato first. Even Pink has done it better then this. That's the real disappointment.


Number 9:

"Don't Wanna Know" by: Maroon 5 ft. Kendrick Lamar.

This was my first solo song review. I wasn't a fan of it then, and it only got worse since then. The perfect word to describe this song is Lazy. The producers, the writers, and the acts did not care about what they were doing in this song. What's worse is that Kendrick Lamar is on this with his worst performance to date. He is one the best rappers working right now, and he is here with little presence and terrible writing. I don't know what else to say here, it's just s**t. NEXT

Number 8:

"We Don't Talk Anymore" by: Charlie Puth ft. Selena Gomez.

I don't hate "One Call Away". It's stupid but harmless despite the Superman line. This song I always considered worse from the start. We have Puth and Gomez talking about they broke up and they complain that they don't talk like they use to. You know, what usually happens when couples break up? They complain even though they say they moved on and started dating others, and yet we have Charlie Puth's whiny attitude. We didn't get rid of Sam Smith so that you can act like him dude. I think back of the time when Charlie had potential after "See you Again", now it's sad to see it get destroyed like this.


Number 7:

"Wicked" by: Future

Or is it wiggle? Wheeho? Wayho? Who knows with the way future is saying it. Remember DJ Mustard, and Mike-Will-Made-It? Now we have Metro Boom as a recurring popular Producer. and he is more boring then the other two I mentioned. All this song feels is nothing. I don't think anyone put any effort into this at all. And on top of it, we have Future drowning in auto-tune. Which doesn't help him, at all. Give Desiigner some credit, at least there is some kind of passion in his music.


Number 6:

"Pop Style" by: Drake ft. Kanye West and 2 lines from Jay-Z

Speaking of people that gives up trying, we have Drake. Who sounds like a complete robot on this. More so than usual. It's not "Fake Love" bad, but it's still frustrating. The production is meh, Kanye's verse is forgettable, and they completly wasted Jay-Z. You get the best rapper of the three, and you only give him two lines. Seriously Drake? Are you that afraid that he is gonna overthrow you here, *which is might have* that you get to barely contribute here? F**k off dude.


Number 5:

"No" by: Meghan Trainor.

................................................What am I supposed to say about this song? Seriously, what is there to say that other people hasn't to say why this song is s**t?

- It's a bad throwback to the late 90's and early 2000's
- Meghan Trainor
- She says no to a guy based on assumptions and not even giving him a chance.
- Meghan Trainor
- This is the stupidest chorus Meghan has done. And that is saying a lot.
- The beat is a rip-off of Justin Timberlake's "Summer Love"
- Meghan F**king Trainor

What is it about her that makes me want to root for her? In this song, she comes off like a spoiled brat who shoots down people for no reason, and spends the breakdown calling herself untouchable. Another example of a good message getting a terrible execution. A "Stand up for yourself" song is fine, but the this whole thing was a complete fail.


Number 4:

"Rise" by: Katy Perry

So, this is the big return of Katy Perry. With this and the whole "Prism" album, maybe she should not be doing inspirational or personal music. It doesn't seem to work for her. It's too bland, too forgettable, the lyrics are nothing special and once again, nothing screams powerful here. It's this high on the list because it is done by Katy Perry of all people. She is someone with big success with massive hit after hit. And the majority of them were really good. To see her washed down to this generic, boring track that anyone could perform is just depressing to me.


Number 3:

"Work from Home" from: Fifth Harmony ft. Ty Dollar Sign

Yeah Fifth Harmony is making both of my hit lists. While "All in my Head" is a strong example of them being good, "Work from Home" is them at their worst. The raindrop production is terrible, the guest verse from Ty Dollar Sign is not that strong, the lyrics truly suck. Seriously, why would you want to get your man fired so that you can have sex? Do you like being homeless? Camilla is tough to listen too. And she is all over the song with her screaming in the end. But the worst thing is the hook. Forget that it's a rip-off of "Work" by Rihanna, though that is bad as well. But we have Lauren on it. She is my favourite from Fifth Harmony, she has this amazing voice and she sounds like she didn't gave a s**t on this. Her talent was completely wasted on this and it really hurt this song. and it's only number three.


Number Two:

"Treat you Better" by: Shawn Mendes.

If you saw my first episode of this series, then you would know this would be on this list. I hated this from the first time I heard it. Two things really stands out about this song.

One is the lyrics. Where Shawn trys to convince this girl to leave her boyfriend for him. One major problem is the framing where he trys to steal someone's girlfriend and claims to be the better gentleman. Forget the video where it shows the girl being abused, but in the song, Shawn gives out zero reasons on why she should leave her boyfriend which makes him look like a complete a**hole. And he does this while she claims that wants to stay with her boyfriend.

Problem #2 is Shawn Mendes himself. While his singing wasn't the best, it was better than this. he sounds complete off on this. He makes the word "Crying" sound like "Crime", and then theres the imfamous "Better than he can" line. What the hell was that anyway. It was out of place and without the subtitles, it sounds like something completely else.

Even with all of that, this is only number two. What can be worse?

Number One

Me Too by: Meghan Trainor.

...................................................................................................................Well, there are no words to describe this song. Other than it's the ultimate "F**k You" song of pop music. Because it is basically what it is. A straight up middle finger to the audience. Everything about this song sucks HARD. The production is something even Will-I-Am would laugh at. The vocals are all over the place and doesn't mash up well. And that's the little problems.


Let's talk about the lyrics. Here's something to know about me. I have a tough time dealing with people bragging about how awesome they are. After Drake's 50th version of that song, I got sick of it. There are ways of making it work. The Weeknd found a way with "Starboy". To make it work, you need self-awareness, a smooth swag, a way to convince us to believe what you are saying. Meghan Trainor does none of them. This is a artist who claims to keep waking up feeling like a rockstar, shows vanity calling herself sexy in the mirror, and is demanding respect just for wearing gold and none of it is convincing. Nor do I care. And She gives us no reason to care. Add a random masturbating line and we get a massive ego trip that even Fall Out Boy think it's too much.

But the worst part of this song is Meghan Trainor and her attitude on this song. She is basically rubbing it in our faces that she is this famous and we aren't. The worst thing you can do to the audience who makes you famous to begin with, is to straight insult them. She is saying that if she was us we would rather by her as well. She is even laughing at us as you can hear in the "Breakdown". It is just insufferable.

There has been many Meghan Trainor songs I hated, but this one I hate the most. It is mean, obnoxious, poorly written, poorly performed, and it is completely worthless. Why do we need this song? I don't know why. All I know is that I do not need to hear it again.


So that was the worst list. I would apologize for all this anger but that would mean me taking back what I said and I won't do that.
